Jess Davis

Atlanta Medical Malpractice Lawyer

Jess Davis doesn’t dabble in medical malpractice—it’s the only work he does.

Every day, he represents families in Georgia and nationwide whose lives have been turned upside down by medical negligence. Over the years, that work has resulted in more than $100 million recovered, including multiple eight-figure verdicts and settlements. Other lawyers know Jess as one of the state’s go-to trial attorneys. Reporters call when complex medical cases make the news. But the people who matter most—his clients—know him as someone who listens, explains things in plain English, and isn’t afraid to go head-to-head with hospitals and insurance companies when their power is turned against regular families.

Jess’s path to the courtroom didn’t start with privilege or connections. He was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia, and stayed close to home for college and law school. He worked his way through both, learning early the value of showing up, working hard, and earning everything through persistence and grit. That same work ethic still drives how he practices law today—hands-on, relentless, and deeply personal to the people he represents.

Before founding Davis Adams, Jess was part of the Litigation & Trial Practice Group at Alston & Bird, an international law firm where he focused on antitrust litigation. He wrote and contributed to leading national legal publications, including the American Bar Association’s In-House Counsel’s Essential Toolkit and the Antitrust Advisor treatise. While the subject matter has changed, the skill set hasn’t. Jess now uses that big-case experience and trial training to take on major hospital systems and corporate defendants, bringing sophisticated firepower to cases that often start with one family simply needing someone willing to fight for them.

Giving back has always been part of Jess’s life. After volunteering in the emergency evacuation of animals in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, he founded the Animal Rescue Legal Society to provide free legal services to animal welfare organizations. He has also served on the boards of The Community School and Druid Hills Youth Sports, where he has coached more than 30 seasons of youth baseball. Jess maintains an active pro bono practice, including helping lead a class-action lawsuit challenging the illegal detention of Vietnamese refugees by the U.S. government and representing detainees at ICE’s Stewart Detention Center through the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Southeast Immigrant Freedom Initiative.

Before law school, Jess spent nearly a decade working in Washington, D.C., and Georgia politics, serving in roles connected to the United States Senate, the United States House of Representatives, and campaigns at every level, including presidential, congressional, state, and mayoral races. That experience sharpened his understanding of advocacy, persuasion, and standing firm under pressure—skills that continue to serve his clients in the courtroom.

At the end of the day, Jess still practices law the same way he started—with the mindset of someone who worked his way here and isn’t about to back down when it matters most.
